👎 Big Trouble (VPS)

You've might noted Regnum lags af.

Thats because we bought a bad vps. Can someone recommend a vps except @Shlub ?

We need one to run regnum on that doesnt lag..

If you are going to be running a server that supports 40+ players you probably want a vps with a minimum of 8gb ram, especially if you have problems with memory leaks (Which server doesn't? Even though I fixed some, there are still bad leaks in NR's server). Also you would probably want a vps with at least 2 processor cores. As for bandwidth, the nr server during peak capacity pumps out around 60 Mbps tops. That is with 125 players, a ~9mb client, and a bunch of .mp3's being sent all the time. I'm not sure if very many companies tell you want kind of bandwidth your server will be capable of receive/send at any given time but it should give you some idea of what to look for.

The nr server runs off a digitalocean 4 core 8gb vps. The cost is $80 dollars a month and virtually unlimited bandwidth (even though they say there is a limit, they don't charge anyone for bandwidth right now). It seems expensive (especially compared to the prices you've all been listing) but the service they provide is great. The only downfall is that you are stuck with a linux os (not a problem for me because I prefer linux but most people want a windows box) and the vps isn't dedicated (my server tends to lag more on the weekends and I suspect that it is due to the load being put on the server by other vps's shared on the same box).
