What languages should I use to learn how to code hacks for FPS games, or games in general?

Start off with C++ because starting off with VB then going to C++ is just annnoying unless you can completely remove all your info about VB except for how to compile and simple stuff.. I know that from experience, in C++ I sometimes accidently type up VB codes.
