A lot of you guys are actually really conservative. Everything gets abused that doesn't mean it's not worth doing.

occam's razor. be neither conservative nor liberal. but what can go wrong, will go wrong, and as such, the risks can't outweigh the benefits. the benefits in this case definitely don't outweigh the risks.
Time to start cycling through old sigs.

I think you just combined Occam's razor with Murphy's Law....but that's a trivial mistake and I won't argue with you on that.

I see the point in your argument, but risk is rarely as powerful an influence on human decision making as reward. When they first tested the atom bomb at White Sands one of the scientist hypothesized that the nuke might make a chain reaction that would destroy all life as they knew it. They did it anyway o_O... and hey we're still here and so far nuclear energy has been a positive thing.

I remember an old forum that used to allow users to insert php code, I'm sure it is doable, but it'd have to be restricted to some extend. I.e, all the forum trolls would go (while(1) echo "spam") and lag up our webbrowsers and the server.

There are two types of tragedies in life. One is not getting what you want, the other is getting it.

If you wake up at a different time in a different place, could you wake up as a different person?
