MPGH Running Slowly.

EDIT: After some searching, apparently the Xenforo idea was scrapped due to it not being very customizable. I'm sure the admins have already done so, but maybe have a look at IP.Board? I use it, and I truly love it, but of course my website is like one millionth the size of MPGH.



I've been a member of MPGH for a while now, maybe two or so years.

Ever since I joined, MPGH has been the slowest website I've ever used.
And it seems to get slower with each passing day.

I remember hearing a while back that the Staff were going to switch to (Xenforo I think) in an effort to increase speed and responsiveness, but I have not heard anything more about this, and searching doesn't bring anything of value up.

I fully understand that MPGH is a massive website, but there has to be something the Admins can do to raise the speed.

I regularly get 503 errors along with waiting an absurd amount of time for one page to load.
Looking at a waterfall graph of MPGH shows that the mean load time for images is about 5.5 seconds, that's bad.

Now I know nothing at all about what hardware MPGH uses, if they rent or own, or whatever. But I think it's time for an upgrade, maybe switch to SSDs if they're not using them already, or upgrade your uplink? I understand this can be expensive, but I, along with I'm sure many others, would happily donate more to help with upgrading the servers.

I'd be willing to do anything I can to help MPGH.
