    Wanting to hit the Gym.

    Hello,

    I want to ask some advice from fellow MPGH-ers about hitting the Gym, I've gone into it before but with fewer "friends" whom don't even talk to me anymore but that's besides the point, I want to know what should I do first? Last time I remember me lifting anything with my bony body was 10-16kg (not a lot but its something), but I have this weird anxiety also..

    A Gym here costs 4.30 Euros for 120 minutes

    Gym not the best bro. You should join crossfit. It's like military workout heavy and intense and more people than gym, Where I go It's 50€ per month you can choose what day you want to go. I go Monday/Wednesday/Friday. I was in the gym too but I gave up and I've been with crossfit for one month now.

    that's where the issue comes in, I don't have friends who'd like to go with me, and its annoying, then one "friend" who I have I lost respect towards him cos he hasn't brought back the laptop yet and I've told him multiple times already .

    Ah, whatever somewhere around next week am gonna go and shit, for the first time for long as time.. I don't care. I can also buy a monthly, or 3 month card as-well, but first I need to see how committed I am

    Don't worry about your friends, you'll make tons of new ones at the gym. I can't relate much to the anxiety but i can tell you most people especially at a gym are very social and approachable, start with the employees there, just strike up short conversations about nutrition/health and exercise methods, next thing you know you'll be craving to go there and if you decide to lift people you get to know there will even spot for you at times and vice versa.

    Here's something to consider. Think about how this community is, you've obviously been quite involved and made many friends and enjoy coming here... in a similar way this is what a gym can become if you just start going and put yourself out there.

    Crossfit is actually funner in my opinion.
    You also work your entire body out, if you go to the right place.
    Not only is it more fun, but you will get ripped if you stay committed.
    Gym is more of a "getting big" thing, UNLESS you know what you're doing. E.g choosing the right workout(s), proper techniques, weights, etc.

    Both will require dedication, healthy meal choices, and a lot of effort.
    The results won't come if you're constantly making excuses/lagging.


    I've done both, and I find Crossfit to be a little better because you are kind of "forced" to go work out, since a lot of the time, you do sessions.
    Gym will be a more of an individual kind of thing, and is harder to stay committed to.
