He had no good reason. They were just arguing about his work ethic, there's a part the employee tells the Manager to gather other Managers to watch security footage and the Manager tells him that's the only thing he's right about. I've seen way more arguments much more heated than that which didn't result in someone getting decked. He claimed the guy was in his face yet he wasn't, also was a cheap shot against a man half his size and probably close to twice his age.

If the guy was so confident the Security footage didn't show him slacking off then he had no reason to hit the man, dumbass employee that's probably lying.
