Are "pro" refunders really worth the money?
As a new member to MPGH who happened upon this forum (by chance having discovered the SE phenomenon after SE'ing for years without ever knowing such a community existed) I was intrigued by the User Services section of the Market Place.
However, it has become apparent both from posts by other members and from my own personal experience recently that a LOT of these so-called "pro" refunders with X years experience offering safe & secure services are doing nothing more than you or I could. Case in point - last week I engaged the services of a fairly prominent refunder who I had been talking with over Skype, I was satisfied with their communications, the answers they gave me and the general impression I had of them but the actual process of getting the refund; the service I wanted that they were offering, was where it all came crashing down.
Within the space of only a few hours in the same morning I had gone from sending over the details of an order for a rMBP placed on a longstanding personal account with to no legitimate refunds and in the last 5 years and no illegitimate refunds whatsoever, to receiving a CIS email that categorically stated I would definitely not be receiving a refund or a replacement for the item as it was showing as delivered. You can imagine my surprise when I came to the realisation that my refunder had used the INA method, and my first thought was "what the hell am I paying for, I could've done that!".
Fortunately I was able rescue the refund even after the CIS email and it's worked out but it got me thinking. The fact is there are very few methods to be used and these may be whittled down even further depending on the type of item and/or value ordered, there is no real skill to what a lot of these refunders would have you believe is a mysterious dark art and those that that claim to possess skills or insider knowledge of Amazon's procedures, practices and policies are just trying to drum up business - AND IT'S WORKING!
