Is it rare to get Pikachu on Pokemon Go?

So I was derping herping around with my device then all of the sudden, pow pow, pew pew, meowww. Pikachu appears out of nowhere!? He was behind my neighbor's house so I broke into their house then went behind the door then realized there was no fence, so i threw my balls at pikachu like he was my slut. Then i caught him like nothing! I didn't cheat like those cheap mofos with that "get Pikachu first start!" method. So technically my basically simple dimple himple question is, is it really rare to get Pikachu?? I've been asking people who plays it and they said they never saw no Pikachu. Am I the chosen one?

No, I have around 5 Pikachu's. It all depends on your location.

I found a Pikachu with 160 CP but its worthless.
