Its ok. Like you said, it didnt really go anywhere. I can see you just decided to just whack the render on top of everything, then just add a glow. Dont worry man i've been down that road many times.

Hmm, blending. All the smudging etc work is behind the render.

Let it infront and then erase to see the render, it'll help the signature all come together.
