PS4 - Games Locked

I purchased a PSN account early last year which had 2 PS4 games. As the usual, I logged into the Sony's website and deactivated and made my console primary. I then downloaded the games and logged off. I set a passcode on my PS4 for this account so I never login again by mistake.

After a year, all of a sudden, these 2 games have a lock symbol and I cannot start them as it says the user must be logged on.

Can a PS4 be deactivated as 'Primary' even if it doesn't log back on with that user account?

I did not change the users password, I created a passcode on my PS4 for that account to avoid signing in by mistake.

My questions is, if after a year the user logins online and does 'Deactivate All', do I also lose 'Primary' even when I never logged into that account on my PS4?

Not sure how I lost the license after all this time.

yeah doesn't matter. If he deactivated you wont have access again.

Given there is a 6 month wait for 'Deactivate All', anyone buying a PSN account has a 6 months to use it.

I was always under the impression as long as you don't sign in, you retain the licence. I was wrong.
