Apple itunes refund

Hi there, I recently had a friend who got scammed into purchasing over $5000 worth of itunes gift cards at his local supermarket, he had a trojan that was telling him he had been found guilty of pirating movies or something and had to either deposit money via western union or send $5000 worth of itunes gift cards, so my friend stupidly did the second one without asking me about any of it.

Now he has tried to refund at the store but they tell him its impossible as once they print out it is unable to refund, you guys think of anything else I can do? thanks!

Nothing you can do, your friend for Ransom Virus. Best you can do is possibly claim it as unauthorized, depending on the store. I'd suggest first calling Itunes asap and put a hold on the gift cards and make sure you tell them you'll provide proof of payment and how you got scammed.

Call the cops, they'll be able to trace back along with Apple where the cards were used / activated.

the only time i heard of people getting ransom ware like that is when they visit forbidden websites. its not logical for someone to buy 5k worth of itunes gift cards for innocently browsing the net.. so that i can tell is pure b.s. right off the bat. he was paranoid because he was doing something wrong on the internet. if the police get involved they may go through all of his browsing history and shit like that. i'm just assuming but i have a pretty good feeling he was up to no good, otherwise why would a logical thinking person give in to a harmless internet threat. nobody gives a shit about pirating because at least 10 out of 15 people pirate goods in their lives so that is not logical at all, and lets be honest.. the FBI doesn't give a shit about pirating unless your a big fish which i am 100% sure he isn't. your friend aint telling you the truth in my opinion. i have experience with ransom ware and they mostly target health departments and people who watch shit like CP and other forbidden material.
