What if you use it in a private game with a friend, say, to finish the easter egg?

You have to be sensible.
If you use it to get on leader boards you will be noticed. if noticed you will be banned.
Whilst no guarantees, if you don't do anything stupid you are unlikely to be banned.
So private multiplayer games should be okay.
