Remember when servers actually existed?

Now all we get are the copy+paste servers or all these "godmode" clients that people make without much effort. It's sad, because I still remember way back when, there used to be great servers flooding this section.

We need to revive it somehow.

TL;DR: We need to regain originality.

I remember the first build of Owls and Fremminiks they were the god servers but then came hacks and oh no no time for someone to play legit

Fremminik, Owl, and a few others were really great. Then they just went somewhere and never came back.

Funny thing is, they were not great; just a shit ton of new items and that.

Good servers were things like Phoenix, Fabiano (first release), ROTF, Nillys etc.

I already mentioned Nilly's. Of course, I wasn't around all that much for PServers back then but I noticed lots of good threads. I do remember the original Phoenix, though.

Hes right, the old Fremminik only had new items and shit in it, mainly cause the developers I hired were lazy, no offense but its true.

The new one, which isnt on MPGH but is still available, is unique and pretty good, but I just need to fix lag.

Good luck, then. No one is going to hand feed you servers at your request. If copy-paste servers work, people will stick with that.

Most of the servers like Fremminik do exist but are offsite due to outside links.

To be honest, if I knew how to do anything with private servers (and didn't have a computer that sucks) I would be trying to find people to make something utmost worth-while. I do know of a server, honestly, but it's on a whitelist. It's not so much the making them part, it's getting them past the first phase of their creation where nothing is usually implemented that's necessarily new. It's where most servers will struggle.

Also, @Ahl, most people won't go to a RotMG PServer if it isn't on here unless it's Nilly's or RotMGTool's because they're either lazy or.. actually, no, just lazy.

Another also. Just looking in the PServer list, there's four different posts on an "UnderRealms" hack. Come on.

I agree with you. I think the main thing is that no one wants to release their server on mpgh because people just make hacks for the server.

One day, there's going to be a server smart enough to make damage server-sided like prod. But we can only hope.

It's not gonna change. In maybe like 1 year from now, we will look back at the current Fsod-source and say "awr, I miss theese times". As long as Deca games, keeps updating the production-build, so will we keep updating, because everyone is so desperate to make a prod build server. However, if enough people start doing stuff on the old sources, those people could create a conor in the community focusing on making a 1:1 vanilla server from scratch. That's my suggestion/conclusion ^^

Ofc, what I mean by Old sources; would be working on sources that has the minor ammounts of current production build features. Such as the AS3 Barebone source by Kithio or the Creepylava(redis)server. Even the mmoe, if you are that badass :P

1 out of 500-1000 can actually make their own source from scratch. (MPGH wise)
