Csgo ban?

So yes I know that when running a cheat vac detects if cs got modified or not and thats how vac works but does it work like that or have I heard/read wrong but if it works like that then how does putting a cheat on a usb, running it then remove the usb avoids a vac ban if it does. As you can tell yes im new to hacking and I want to learn
