❗ Need Speech Topic! Any Ideas?

I gotta write up and present a speech soon and I need a good topic. The general premise of the speech is problem/solution.

What this means is that I must talk about a problem that occurs on our world. This can be on a local, state, national, or international level. After that, I must talk about a proposed solution that can remedy this problem.

I have to incorporate sources within my speech too so please make the problem relevant and easy to find data on. Also please stay away from the common topics like global warming and stuff.

Winner gets my appreciation and thanks!

Sorta died down.

I'm looking for a topic that effects more people, not something that's controversial and effects the people/things in that area.

You should do Syria, the problem is that they are using chemical weapons on their own people, and russia is supporting them. For the solution you can back President Trump on what he is doing, or you could suggest a better solution.

I would like to avoid politics if possible. I live in California which is Democrat land so....

Maybe why advancement in technology is creating a bigger gap from developed and developing countries.
You could talk about how people patent their ideas so others can't use it in developing worlds etc

You could just do something generic like "world hunger" or something.

There is a new problem going on in my country, camps for gays. You could talk about that.
Speech and solution easy to find.

The division of taxes, but that's politics again.

You could find a topic about current activities in space, perhaps the Mars mission?

Problem = drugs
Solution = nuke the poppy fields in Afghanistan

You could talk about the profit margins in the industries.

For example,

farmers aren't paid to their standard, while the retailers are hogging all the money?
