I went to that site went to Compiling your first program and I followed it step by step until the hot key to compile it. I pressed F7 and nothing happened so I searched for the build menu but it wasn't there.

When you open a project in VS, you should see alot of options, such as File, Edit, View, etc, click Build and then Build Solution. That should be it
