EAC Bypass 1.9.4c Workaround: Make your save files great again [UPDATED]
SECOND REVISION OF THIS POST

Hi,

here's my new attempt at explaining the workaround for you guys. You can find my original post in the spoiler at the end of the post.

Here's the text version and below is the video

Note: you can also delete EAC in %appdata%. EAC wasn't running for me, so I didn't do it, but you may want to.
1. Backup your DBD game files
2. Download the downgraded version (from the video desc below, since no external DL hotlinks are allowed here)
3. Extract/Copy-Paste the files in your DBD folder (steamapps/common/deadbydaylight)
4.1 Block DBD in the firewall
4.2 Use the bypass files attached or also linked in the video desc
4.3 If you open the game, you'll see that DBD says your dbd save is broken, no worries here!
5. Use CloudExtract to extract your current save (for the ID)
6. Edit your savefile (I used this as a base) as you like and add your ID to it, inject it
7. THIS IS IMPORTANT: As soon as you get in the menu (but before anything appears), you need to alt+f4 out of the game, otherwise it'll break your save again
8. Restore your original files, revert any bypass measurements and play with your edited save

[B][SIZE=3]PROOF AND TUTORIAL (German Video with English text!)

I'd suggest to not have any items/addons more than 300 times, just for safety. It's up to you though.

I'd appreciate credit if this is shared elsewhere.

Original Post without video nor downgraded game DL (no external links allowed!)

Hi,

quite a few people had issues with the first tutorial I posted, so I try to explain it as easy as possible.

What are we doing?
- We will be downgrading the game to a previous version when the bypass worked. (1.9.4b)

1. Access the steam console. Press Win + R and then type the command: steam://open/console

2.1. Enter the following code into it: download_depot 381210 381211 6289575842900033273 and hit enter.
This will downgrade the game to the 1.9.4b version of April 15th.

NOTE! You can check the downloading progress by going to the steam downloads - it will not show any game, but only your network being active! So if it's actively downloading something, it's working good. (it'll be done at around 6GB)

2.2 INSTEAD you can also go to the video below and download the downgraded version from there.

3. Go to your steam folder/steamapps/content and find the depot download there.

4. Delete all the current DBD files in steamapps/common/dbd and move the files from Step 3 into the folder
EDIT: You can also back them up to speed the process up a little bit (see step 10)

5. Close steam, otherwise it will override whatever you do in step 6

6. The game ID is 381210. In Steam\SteamApps, check the manifest file with that ID, open it with notepad.
Check line 6; StateFlags - Change whatever number there is to 4 (this means "updated and installed"). This is to prevent steam from auto-updating it.

7. Start the game (unpatched!), it'll ask to install EAC probably - install EAC and then close the game again

8. Bypass EAC: Delete EAC in %appdata%, block dbd in firewall, copy/paste the EAC bypass files attached (the same ones as before!) from here. You don't have to edit the hosts file, it works without it.

9. Extract, edit and inject your edited savefile with these tools here: Extract/Inject - Editor

10. Once you're ready to update again; close steam and edit the manifest file again. Set the state flag from 4 to 2 (means update required). However, it can take a while until the update is actually being done, so you can also verify the game files, which will most likely result in a complete re-download again!

Edit: Alternatively you can just backup/restore your original files and keep it at "StateFlag 4"

11. Revert the bypass measures

Play and enjoy your new profile on the newest version of the game. (funnily enough I still found some people in 1.9.4.b, but not enough to play with them before the timeout lol)

If it still works , they will use some version checks for the save.
Worked, thanks.
Thanks a lot !
Once , I copy a old version , it can come in game ,but can't match anybody .
So, I guess this is the same solotion.
Dang, nice ! I'll test this when I come home tonight ^^ Hopefully it works ! And why isnt it a sticky ? OwO
Please note, I took this savefile as base. When you update to 1.9.4c again and decide you want to downgrade to edit stuff again, you may need to work with this savefile, as your own will be broken in 1.9.4b when you get it from 1.9.4c!

I added this in the original post now
The method is very good, but I still can't finish it well. Thank you very much!

What exactly are you stuck with?
I can´t start the game after replacing with the depot files. Game crashes at startup, dbd-win64-shipping.exe. Some memory read error 0x00007FF6B43D51E5.
When I delete the whole content of the dbd folder in steam and just insert the dbd folder and .exe from the depot the game craches at startup with an missing eac .dll´s error.
Failed to open descriptor file '.../.../.../DeadByDaylight/DeadByDaylight.uproject'
when i have star game and bypass EAC .

Could it be that your depot download wasn't fully finished?
Your folder should look like this

I had this issue too at first. Deleting the folder in /content and restarting the PC has fixed it for me. I am not entirely sure why this happens.
My steam is still closing when i am at 700mb. What should i do to fix it?
Maybe you can create an archive with 1.9.4b with a download link?
