Upgrading to a GTX1060?

I currently have a GTX760 and I've been wanting to upgrade to a GTX1060. Realistically, how many years could I use it to play some older and newer game comfortably on a 1080p display? Is it worth to save up more and buy a GTX1070/1080 instead?

id go straight for a 1070 if you have the money

whats your other specs ? depending on how those are a 1070 might not make sense
seeing as you have a gtx 760 chances are the cpu wont be the best

Sry for the late reply, been off for a few days. My current CPU is I5-4670 and I have 8 GB or ram, which I'm planning on upgrading to 16 GB. Not sure about the CPU though.

That CPU is not that bad for now, but I would look into another one if I were you. Maybe on eBay or something?

You could go for a newer CPU, but you'll need to upgrade your MB and RAM too, because of that old 1150 socket of yours, so yeah, keep an eye on that.

If you only want to upgrade the GPU, the 1070 is a great choice (1070ti/1080/1080ti/newer gpus in the future if you want to be future proof)

Get something along the lines of a 1080-1080ti and have it refunded if you can't afford the full price.

That way you'd save money + get a way better GPU!

1060 is great for gaming. can run almost all games

what @niggo said, skip the 1060 go to the 1070 you will be saving money in the long run. its a $100 upgrade for 40% efficiency increase which sounds like a better deal to me

Do you guys know if the fx 8300 is a good pair with the gtx 1060 6gb ?

well it should work

but in 1-2 years you definitely need a new cpu to play modern games properly

refund a titan xp

1070 is definitely better value imo, but it depends on the price point where you're from.

Honestly, if you're looking for the long run, delay the upgrade for a bit, save up a bit of money and get the 1080ti, it will do you for many years, I currently have one and can run any game with great FPS on max settings on 1080p 144hz.

Well, this section is the best place to advertise haha.

Go for 1080 or 1080ti, price are dropping since next gen is coming soon. Those models will last you for awhile.
