🙁 Is my GPU broken?
Okay so I have this shitty GPU, it's like an r7 or something(not good with computers), I took my computer to get fixed and the guy said that my gpu was broken and just to double check he plugged it in infront of me and installed the drivers, whenever he rebooted it, it froze on the windows start up screen( like that 4 colors thingy blinking for awhile). We waited for awhile until he's like "ok this is broken give me an hour to fix your computer again).

tldr: gpu plugged in>makes computer freeze on windows screen

please help guys. should I get a new GPU or is there something wrong?
Sounds like your GPU is actually broken, what are you using the computer fpr?
If it is showing random colors all over the screen or you see vertical/horizontal lines across the screen at random with random screen black outs thats most likely graphics problem. if you have a cpu with integrated graphics take out the graphics card and see if it runs fine without it . also note the screen will be black for maybe a minute or so until it switches to the integrated graphics. what cpu do you have?

I mainly use it for CS:S and other games like skyrim. I can still play css with really low graphics but it bums me out. Plus I cant play my other games with friends .

He plugged it in and set it up then it wouldn't launch. Before he did all that It would rarely launch up and I was able to play.

I just recommend that you buy a cheap gpu like a 1050ti for CS:GO paired with a ryzen 1200
WHat's a ryzen 1200, is it a CPU? Sorry I'm not good with computers.

I'll probably just get something cheap from a local electronics store near me, but thanks for the offer.

He plugged in the GPU and then it wouldn't launch? Before he did that it also wouldn't launch but would sometimes? Does it or does it not boot up without the graphics card.

Alright so when the GPU was not plugged in it launched perfectly. Whenever the GPU was plugged in he would launch it up, install all the needed shit that would help the GPU run, restart, and it would get stuck on the "Winodows Starting" screen...

Probably, gpu's don't have a very long lifespan especially if games on. After a few years the reliability starts to drop. If you want to be sure ask if the guy can install your GPU into another machine.
