What do you guys do when studying?
I'm one of those people that can't study unless it's the day before the exam.

For some reason I passed all the hardest exams this year but I've got a few easy ones to catch half August.

Problem is I sit down in my chair and spend the day doing absolutely nothing beneficial. Even the smallest distraction gets in my head.

I also have this little autism where my room and desk has to be COMPLETELY clean or I can't begin.

Sold my PS4, sold my gaming PC. That's no issue anymore.

I was thinking: perhaps it is because I'm a night person? I sleep pretty early (sike). Around 23:00.
I know my brain activity actually begins at 23:00 from experience. Could that be it?

I tried relatin. It works but instead of not being able to concentrate, I am able to concentrate on the most useless shit there is.

Ritalin, it's called Relatin here. Not so effective no?

That's not cool, I don't like that mentality, I want to change it and be able to study properly. Soon I'll be facing a master education that will fuck me up if I don't prepare accordingly.
@DaanBatsbak because the exams get harder and harder
people don't get smarter and smarter

Try going to the library ? when i did my degree i could never revise at home. I crammed 4-6 weeks before exams and not much in term time.

I am also a night person so just use to go to the library like 3pm to 12am etc then come home and play some games then sleep, sleep in more games in the morning then leave for the library.

This does not work for me. The constant presence of others bothers me. I just can't.
I'm also pretty keen on my sleep. Can't combine training otherwise.

Though you are correct and in order to proceed I'll have to settle with a solution. Library does not sound bad.
You have ocd/perfectionist symptoms

I study computer science
Well, what kind of distractions do you have?

If you have an erratic schedule (i.e. you're doing different things at the same time everyday) then that can confuse the mind, and make it escape from the task at hand.
Being orderly with your schedule would help, for sure. i.e. doing the same thing at the same time every single day.
Wake up > eat > study > free time > sleep. Rinse and repeat everyday. Build the schedule into mental and muscle memory.

I know, the mentality sucks but it's just somehow what we do. I would happily play games the full day before the exam even if in the back of my head I know I need to revise
Have you tried going to bed early like 21:00 and waking up at 04:00. It works 99% for everyone. Do give it a try.
Try to learn often but not long, maybe this helps....
To piggyback off of Vloger's idea, I use the Pomodoro Technique when studying. With this, I can usually go for hours without enduring an insane amount of mental fatigue. To those who don't know what Pomodoro is:

"The Pomodoro Technique is a time management method developed by Francesco Cirillo in the late 1980s. The technique uses a timer to break down work into intervals, traditionally 25 minutes in length, separated by short breaks." - Wikipedia

I suggest you give it a try! If its for you, it will make studying a lot more bearable, even enjoyable, if you do something fun or relaxing during the allotted break periods!
I'm the same way! Can't focus for shit on school work. It all piles up until the end of the semester, then I just fucking send it to pass my classes. Who knows why?
Same I get distracted, looking at my phone and shit, feels bad. bro
