Dama Chargeback Disputes

I paid dama through revolut, via 2 payment links, i sent him no oney through one, he requested money via another one, total of £412

I tried charging back with revolut, but they want a police report, is it wise to go this route? The money paid to revolut was topped up from my actual bank, is it wise to chargeback through my actual bank or what, and what reasons would i give

I already know.. Karma.. Buying these items knowing what they are, but i just need to know possibilities. Idk who else paid through revolut, seems like most people used BTC

Charging back from your bank will get your Revolut banned.

What is Revolut asking in terms of police report since Dama is based in a different country than you?

You can tell revolut that the receiver is different country , therefore the police cant create police report, and you tell the revolut staff that you have contacted your bank about the issue and waiting for revolut to release the payment

I actually paid through Revolut aswell, got the same situation where they require a Police report to do anything. I'll try contacting my bank most likely today as I don't care too much for my Revolut account; I can also try the above and see if that gets me anywhere.

If I choose to go the bank route, I'm not even sure what to say as I never really spoke to them about getting money back. Do I say "I paid for an item, didn't receive it" or "I didn't make this transaction blah blah" or what else? pretty clueless.

Thats exactly my issue, what reason would i give them? I paid for services from where, where did i find him etc? I dont give af about revolut i simply made it just to pay him, very bad mistake, let me know how your bank goes.

I contacted Revolut to say I can't do a police report as he's outside the UK and police won't take the case, still said the same thing of them not being able to do anything as it was a transfer and didn't direct me anywhere, etc. just said they are sorry (Shitty system tbf). I went ahead and contacted my bank and just told them I purchased a phone which hasn't arrived, things along those lines and they said they can't do anything as it went through Revolut and want me to speak to Action Fraud which requires where I made purchase, proof, etc. I probably won't go through action fraud and just deal with the 260$ loss, not as big of a loss as others.

You can try doing a different story if you didn't make the transaction or whatever, good luck!

I have charged back revolult when they wouldn't give me my money back i was of course banned but got my money back you shouldn't go into detail what revolut is you should act more of the terms of 'I was robbed of my money or duped what ever word suits best' instead of i brought a phone and never got it you can also tell your bank revoult are not willing to help and your out of money etc.

i wouldn't roll over and take it.

Your bank can do something as you was scammed and that's the reason charge back's exist for that simple fact.

How did you do this, are you from UK? What reason shall i give my bank, that i bought something through revolut, will they not know its a bank? I need to try this tomorrow, as it's basically payments going to revolut.

Yes from the UK.

and they will not know its a bank themselves unless the person on the phone has of course used it themselves you just say you have been a VICTIM of a online scam and have reached out but received no help and would like to charge back.

You have the option to chargeback paypal thats why they give 180 days due to that reason so revolut is no different really.

i think he is not going to refund anyone.

How about PayPal I paid as Friends and family. I already tried getting a chargeback through them but they declined should I go to my bank (Chase Bank).
