Gaming setup advice

Hi everyone,

Currently looking into buying my first gaming pc, my budget is $800-900, hoping to be able to stream on twitch and play games such as gta v and overwatch at 60fps min. If anyone has any suggestions for any pc parts, monitors, etc. would be greatly appreciated.

imma just put it out there, not accusing you of anything... I really don't understand why people want more than 60 FPS, when most the time they are bottle-necked my their monitor. Only situation I see this useful is in CoD, where they had a bug that enabled you to jump further with a better FPS.

I would recommend watching some Linus Tech Tips. Normally I would recommend reading some articles on xx topic, but in this situation you would be better off watching videos, as AFAIK there's not many articles (or ones that will provide all necessary info regarding compatibility and such).

It literally doesnt depend on the game. You are only going to visually notice a change when you have a higher refresh rate on your screen.

i cant play csgo or fortnite with 60fps literally get nauseus there

even on a 60hz panel
120+ and its fine

imo fast paced games do benefit from having more fps
the more the better

if you have adaptive sync its a bit different but im usually aiming for 200+ fps in those competitive games

Probably gonna have to build ryzen just purely because intel is more on the expensive side.

also buying ram and windows 10 is like $220 together so you should just download windows and buy a windows 10 key from someone on mpgh and download more ram

Ye but when you got a 144hz monitor e.g. and get enough fps then it makes a huge difference. Specially for fast shooting games, with 60hz tracking becomes a pain in the ass.

why not stream and game in 480p? should work fine then

If you want smooth fps it’s recommended to have 2x amount of Hz of your monitor. Let’s say you have 60Hz monitor and want nicely smooth fps without any blur or something like that. So it’s the best when you have 120fps as 60Hz doesn’t mean 60fps because there is some other deduction than in seconds.

Many people think 60Hz=60fps, 144Hz=144fps etc. but it’s incorrect.
