Hi, im a new player to league, whats the best way to get better at the game?

If you're new, I think you should start by just playing the game, to learn about all the different champions, spells, objectives, etc by experience. Once you know what everything is, you should decide on a role to main, and watch videos/educational streams by players who play that role. If you have questions, sometimes is possible to find some smaller educational streamers and ask them during their stream. Alternatively, there's /r/summonerschool and the monthly monday megathread at /r/leagueoflegends on https://www.reddit.com to ask questions.

Skill = time spent.
Same as most things in life.
Some will progress further and quicker but the rule is pretty much that.

Play a lot, try to understand the champs and their abilities, watch streams and yt vids

Play more, watch guides and watch YouTube video.
Then you can gain more game sense and know more about minion control and stuff.
Then you can move on to more advance stuff like trading freezing etc.
It can be frustrating, but also rewarding

Watch someone who plays good and can explain to you everything (not a streamer, but a friend who will patiently describe what's going on). Learn to watch the map, to last hit minions and positioning, that doesn't come to you just one day. Learn it step-by-step. Devil hides in details.
