Highly compressed games
So I bought R6 siege on steam and when I went to download it I was surprised with the size.. 72GB
so that's like half of my quota and I can't download that, so is there any way to get the game like highly compressed and copy it to my steam library?
And I remember a lot of my friends when gtaV was free on epic they went to download FitGirl repack and copied it to epic files and that was like 50% of the size and it worked!
So my questions are is it illegal? and will it work on steam as it worked on epic? and where to get it from
Theoretically its not illegal if you own the copy (varies country to country), and I don't believe it will work on steam/epic.
Repacks are a legit way of downloading larger games that have been compressed down. Obviously most repacks contain cracks/piracy, just remove them I suppose.
Pirated copies often don't have the installers for directx and other necessities. Similarly all the updates are applied to a certain version which reduces certain bloat.

Fitgirl always includes options for the directx and other dependencies on their repacks btw.

Usually repacks include options or force you to install those dependencies. Just straight game files (not repacked) + crack included like you find on torrent sites are the ones you're referring to.

Yeah some releasers include essentials. Most game companies include everything possible to get things running across multiple flavors of operating systems. Typically a bruteforce approach is cheaper and more likely to work versus just including the core files and hope things work.
R6 is Uplay/Steam game so that may be a problem...
I mean, if you think about it, you already paid for the game.
But for your issue, like everyone here - I don't believe it will be the same files exactly - so it's best if you just download it from Steam (leave it on for the night or something).
