Im having a problem with dedit...
For some reason dedit doesnt seem to work for me. I export the tga file completely fine but after i export it i can on longer import the files even if i dont edit it. It says something about it not being a valid file and making sure it was a uncompressed 16 or 32 bit file or something >.>

Are you using paint.net or photoshop when your modding?

I used gimp to edit the tga files...but dedit cant even read the files when i try to import them in the first place.

Yeah, after you do the modifications. Press save as and a menu should pop up with 32 bit and 64 bit or something, look at the bottom and there should be an option with uncompressed file or something. Try it.
