specialists or not

well, after a few days i noticed that my crossmods weren't working because of my equipped specialist.yesterday it expired and i had a game with my g36e , that was modded to be an UMP.then, when i bought specialist again, the g36e stopped showing off as an UMP and turned again in a normal one.
what's the difference between specialist or simple mercenary?

Has anyone tried to remove the textures of the vests? Maybe that would work.

to get crossmods working?

I've heard it is the gloves of the vest and the specialist that screws up crossmods. I use a crossmod that works with specialist and vests. The trick is to have all the ltb files crossmoded, if it's possible.
