Cross-worlding (?)
Hey guys. I have a feeling that I'm not the only one to try this, so I thought I'd ask you. I tried copying Rattlesnake and renaming it as the Cabin Fever map to see if I would get special platforms, etc. Instead, Combat Arms disconnected me when I tried to play fireteam. How does it detect this? Is there a way to fool it?
im not a pro modder but i dont think thats even possible lmao nexon has like 3 layers of barriers blocking it from doing that

I think we can do it. Just not yet.
You cannot play with others if your map files are different.

So if I had a couple of my buddies do the same we COULD do it?

Maybe, try it out. I don't recommended doing it for Cabin Fever though.

Will do. Thanks, Soso.
Won't work .

Is there a file that prevents it from working? Or is their absolutely nothing I can do? I feel like I remember someone saying something about creating invisible platforms, if they could decode some file. Would this be relative?
Has anyone here actually tried to mod their own maps?

I think it would be cool to see other maps made by people, definitely if the quality was up to par with Nexon's maps.
Obamas post says it all just like i said it wouldnt work
Someone released a kill creek to snowvalley mod I think. Something to do with the WORLDS.rez file.
My guess is that the map's crucial information is sever-sided. You have the necessary files so you can visually see the map on your computer, but you can't change anything because your only modifying the files that are only on your computer. Changing them will only disrupt the information that needs to be sent to the sever and back to you.

You can modify other things like guns, crosshairs, etc.. You will be able to see the modify version because the visual files are stored on your computer, but no one else will see the difference.

Curses. Foiled again.

I had a feeling that it might be server-sided. But I'm positive someone was almost able to do it...

And darkbringer, are you sure? Cause they are a genius.
