How to change the attributes of FX
YOU HAVE TO BE ADVANCED IN MODDING TO DO THIS, DON'T EVEN TRY IF YOU DON'T KNOW HOW TO MOD, SO PLEASE NO STUPID QUESTIONS, EITHER
KNOW HOW TO DO IT OR DON'T
As you know... I quit modding, so I'll bring over some of my secrets, NOT ALL, so don't bug me about anything else, please, if I want to let people know i'll release a TuT. I only released this TuT because the variety of mods has gone down, and not alot of unique mods I like anymore.
1st. Extract ClientFX.REZ
2nd. Open ClientFX.FXF in a Hex Editor
3rd. In here, this is what controls the FX effects that are in FX.REZ, these are DTX, more like attributes for the FX effects. In here, you will find things to edit to change what happens in game. Here are a few pointers,
"PropName: GravityAcceleration
Type: 2
FLOAT: 30.000000"
This is the speed of how fast the FX effect falls at, the higher the Float number, the faster it falls down. Vice versa
"PropName: MinParticleLifeSpan
Type: 2
FLOAT: 0.400000"
This is the minimum life span of the effect, the higher the Float number, the longer the effect will last, MINIMUM.
"PropName: MaxParticleLifeSpan
Type: 2
FLOAT: 0.600000"
This is the maximum life span of the effect, the higher the Float number, the longer the effect will last, MAXIMUM.
"PropName: PercentToBounce
Type: 2
FLOAT: 0.000000"
The chance of the FX effects bouncing when it hits the floor, the higher the Float, the more chance it has of bouncing.
There is more to edit, but you can find that out by yourself, just letting you guys know modding has alot of things to edit.

Interesting indeed, nice find. Hex editing is the future of modding. Luckily that will weed out some of the lamer mods, some rumors lead to a possible god mode and such from hex editing. Godlier mods lie with world.rez and attributes.rez
YEs, i am getting the hang of hex editing my self, i know this is such a choob question, What does fx acually mean?
