Final Report: The Bible; Is it Sexist?

Now I'm not saying that the bible is bluntly sexist, but you have to admit that there are a few scriptures that don't represent females as good human beings or that they're made to serve men.

Now you may be saying "Oh CaT- why are you on the females side?"

To answer your question, I'm on neither side, I'm just pointing view points from both sides.

Now lets begin shall we?

1 Corinthians 11:3 *

3 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman [is] the man; and the head of Christ [is] God.

Now from a womens point of view, they would probably say that they are equal, and indeed at this age, they are,since they can both equally support one another.

An average male would say that this is indeed true, since the man is the head of the family and thus the female is lower than him.

There is obviously more evidence to this topic, but not enough to put in one post, so what do you think? Is the bible sexist or no?

I'm not as religious as most people would be;
but I do think that it's all on interpretation?
and how people view the bible?

I personally think that role's aren't made by sex/gender, but by the responsibility's taken by the person(s)

Yeah, well this thread is pretty much dead now, since someone moved it. Nobody visits debate.

Considering the bible was written by men (which in all consideration was not very unbiased), and has other such lovely passages such as a talking snake, parting seas, and rising dead. Yeah I'm not gonna take it very seriously or apply it to my daily life. In any case, the bible was translated to fit the society's view of things, things were later added on there to make Christians follow certain ways, such as Dante's vision as the real revelation of hell etc. Reading the Bible and taking it seriously, at least the KJV It's like reading Harry Potter and wondering if we can somehow sneak into the magical part of London.

No it isn't since far away in time people wasn't smart like now and weamon had to do evry thing to survive.
Today weamon have independence and can say there words with out being scared that some one will hurt them and in my country there was 1 president in all these 62 years.

1: Original Bible is not written by Man. Man later changed it to fit his needs.
2: To me the best book in the world is Holy Quraan. Allah promised to take care of it, and look after more than 1400 years, not a single word of it is edited. If you read Holy Quraan, then you'll see women are given the same rights as men (except a few). It's the man who is evil. Holy books tell us good and tell us about equality.

Yes, the bible is sexist.
It was written by a couple of men who smacked their women daily. Same for their children.
But who cares anyways.

WTF r u guys stupid the bible isn't sexist. It's just how it is, a man was made to protect a women, and a women is supposed to be attractive to a man, right? Back then (Talking about 200-100 years ago) women didn't have jobs they were in the kitchen

and it was up to the man to protect the family.
