Can't Install .Net Framework 4.0

Whenever I download it, and start the setup, I get this error saying "Unknown trust provider" and the installation fails.

Please help.

u downloaded a corrupt setup, try another site, preferably the official site, if you downloaded a good one try changing the directory...

Right, I download the official version from Microsoft and that doesn't work. What do you mean by changing my directory wolffang?

If so, then maybe you don't have .Net Framework 3.5 installed first? Get 3.5 here: Download details: .NET Framework 3.5

Yeah I got excited about that suggestion because I didn't have 3.5, but then, of course, 3.5 setup doesn't even open up for me. This is pissing me off.
