OK I made this thread to throw together pretty the basic things over CA for the noobs.
I typed out around half of it and sorta just copied and paste the rest that others typed. /
I made sure to give proper credits. If you think I left your name out just tell me and I'll add it on O:



[COMBAT ARMS .DLL ERRORS]

For all the noobs posting that say they're missing a .dll

[Example] MSVCR100.dll is missing or invalid.

HOW TO FIX:

Once you downloaded the missing file/error.
Make sure to save it inside of your
C:\WINDOWS\system32

*IMPORTANT*
The folder to save the .DLLs may vary on what bit you have
32-bit or 64-bit

[FINDING A GOOD HACK]

Finding a good hack isn't that hard.

1) Find a thread with a good hack.
You can find some by: Topblast,coryster,ac1d_buRn,msflames3 and much more
I'm not giving links since the hacks will probably soon be patched.

2) There are lots of hack that could best suite a person. Most likely. Legit hacks, Chams, No Spread, ESP Boxes. ETC.

3) When you've found a good hack, make sure you test it! If it works well and you like it, "GIVE THANKS TO THE CREATOR."

4) If you dislike the hack don't spam the thread on which the hack was released.

5) If you recieve an error with injecting the hack Make sure to read both before asking further questions.

[FINDING A GOOD INJECTOR]

1) When looking for a good injector it's not all about the looks of it.

2) Most injectors should work, if it is not injecting either the hack is detected on your Game or it wasn't injected right.

3) Most common injectors used:
PerX
DevInject
Red Dragon Injector

[CREATING CAMOS (Rez editing)]

1) Making camo skins is like bagging groceries when you get the hang of it.

2) You can use either GIMP or you can use
Photoshop

3) Next you will need some RezTools

4) Open RezXtract and extract the .rez file you wish to be extracted inside of you CA folder.

("Every REZ File and what They Control")

5) Wait until you see extraction complete before you close it!

6) It will auto extract into your combat arms folder, with the name of the selected .rez

7) Open DTX Convert, browse the file you want to edit, Example: the l96a1, which is named PV_L96A1, click on it and press convert to LithTech.

8) Open your image editing software, a couple were given above.

9) Then browse your dtx (important, you have to put the plug-ins, included into the .rar for rez tool) < This is not needed if using

GIMP.

10) Edit your image that should show your gun. Try giving it cloud layers or make soft,close, and smooth brushes.

11) Now to save, "Save as" and choose dtx format. or with GIMP Just over right the original .dtx

12) Now, open DTX convert once more and press "Convert to Nexon"

13) open RezInject and click on file name, C:\Nexon\Combat Arms\Game and select the .rez you want to inject your mod in. O:

14) Go into you combat arms folder, C:\Nexon\Combat Arms\Game and search the .rez where you inject your mod. when open, search for GUNS_T_PV_SR.rez and
GUNS_T_PV_SR.rezNEW

IMPORTANT.*
MOVE THE GUNS_T_PV_SR.rez INTO AN EXTRA FOLDER. Keep as a backup!

15) Rename the "GUNS_T_PV_SR.rezNEW" to "GUNS_T_PV_SR.rez" and happy modding O:

[REDUCING LAG]

Disable all programs you're not using + programs that take up quite a lot of memory + ram + etc;.
Windows Live Messenger- // iTunes- //Other Web Browser Windows- // The Downloads listed below-
If you have GameBooster, remember to put it back into normal mode.
Advance System Care + TuneUp Utilites Turbo Boost Modes Off.

[Add & Remove Programs]
Go To: Start>ControlPanel>Add+Remove Programs
Uninstall any program you don't need/use, or'll use later on in the future




[Startup Manager]
Start>Run (or Windows Key + R)
Type in: msconfig
Click on Startup, then only check the items that you need
Like AntiViruses,or anything else.




[Manual Delete]
Type in: temp
%temp%
cookies

Note: Not all of those "Run" codes work for other OS's, they're
mainly for Windows XP, so don't worry if you can't get to them in Windows Vista or Windows 7
Delete all of the items inside of these folders that you can, if any of them are undeleteable, leave them alone.




[Increasing Computer Speed]
Start>Right Click "My Computer">Properties>Advance>Performance:Settings
Fill in Adjust for best performance but don't click Ok, or Apply yet.

Scroll down to the last 3 boxes and check them, then hit apply and go to the Advance Tab.
Under Virtual Memory, it should say Total paging file size for all drives: and memorize the number.
Below it, click on Change now if the first box you see in the window is checked, uncheck it.
Select Custom Size and get a calculator (or Start>run>calc)
The number you memorized should be mutiplied by 1.5
If it ends up to be 6411.5 make it 6411, not 6412 (round the number DOWN)
After you multiplied it by 1.5, type in the result in both Initial Size AND Maximum Size. Click Set, and then Ok.

Or you can just make the Initial Size the same number as the Maximum size, then click Set, and Ok.





[Defragmentation]
Start>My Computer>Right Click Local Disk ( C: )>Properties>Tools
Click Defragment Now... then Analyze
Wait for the Analysis to finish, once it does, and you need to Defrag your drive, do so.

[LEVELING FASTER]


There are many ways to level up fast..
You can do it legit..
Or use hack .. (like I use too!)XD

1. You can buy Bonus EXP .. 40% or 100%
It really helps...
Play with them in maps that you like,that you kill a lot..
This is one way... lol

2. Play elimination..
Playing the other mods is a waste of time..
Playing elimination helps you a lot because it is a long lasting game.. ( do 140 kills).

Ex:
-> One Man Army - Junk Flea - 16 people

The games here are fast and can give you over 200 xp! If you have more deaths than kills though you'll have around 130 xp.


-> Capture the Flag - Junk Flea - 16 people
The games here are not as fast but still give a lot of experience.

-> Elimination - Death Room - 16 people
This game is extremely fast and gives around 100 xp a game.

*Basically games with more people, give more xp.
*Also One Man Army and Capture the Flag give the most.

3) Power level!
Ask a friend if you have one and say him to make a game in Capture The Flag mode. Let your friend kill you 1 time and kill him 1 time once you do that you

will have 100 EXP and plus. Let also your friend take your flag and take his flag each turn you do that.
