lol this isnt even remotely the right section for this
ok, html. we are currently on version 4.01 as of 2000ish.
html is what makes up websites
to do really cool stuff with websites you need stuff like adobes flash or suns java or microsofts silverlight.
html5 attempts to do what all those third party softwares (flash, java, silverlight, as well as others) and combine it into one single language and make it simple.

I have to say, HTML is boring as shit when I did it. I hate website programming.

yea, it used to be. which is why im so hyped up about 5, because its like the crackhead step child of flash, php, java, and html.
can someone move this to the html section please? this is SOOO not the right section and i didnt expect it to stay open this long
I can't wait for HTML5.
Also, I'm kinda glad that I never got into Java. I tried it once, but this new stuff would make me learning that language a waste of time. Java will still be used, just not as much.

i think java and flash will survive until maybe 2022, which is when html5 will become the recomended version, but its going to actually be released next year or 2012. its already been suggested to w3c and they approved the concept.
