Not just because he can rap fast, but because he appeals to everyone.
His album has been switching between #1 and #2 on the charts since it came out.
Love the way you lie is the #1 music video and switching between #1 and #2 song.
Not afraid was the #1 song and music video for weeks.
He has been killing it for years now, and even with the death of his best friend in 2006 (Proof)
he still came out with Relapse and Recovery, both #1's.

IMO rap is literally just talking fast with an auto tuner, it's stupid.
