Post Weapons & Gear Guide to Desert Thunder

    No, is not mine.
Copied & Pasted from Nexon CA Forums

Source: Nexon Forums - Weapons & Gear Guide to Desert Thunder

Since CA General Section is kinda dead, I was browsing Nexon CA Forums and I found this.

IMO I think this is very interesting, there are tons of players playing DT trying to run away from hackers and if you know how to play Desert Thunder, you can Power Level in a legit way earning 150 Exp or more in 5 minutes or less.

This guide will help you to improve your gaming in DT.

This guide's main purpose is to help people understand the proper Weapons & Gear they should have when playing the Fireteam Mode Desert Thunder. This Guide will help you Set-up exceptionally well for DT on all Difficulties, especially Extreme.
*DT = Desert Thunder (acronyms FTW)

    Weapons:
Primary: Most AR's will work, SMGs not so much, Snipers aren't necessary at all, and never bring a shotgun or an MG, (also don't forget to use ext mag 1 or 2 on your primary) [ I use the NX Rare M4A1 SOPMOD as my primary in DT ]

Secondary: Default Pistol (I use the USP Tactical SE with ext mag 2, very useful backup weapon in DT!)
Melee: M9 (some people like using the M11 Tactical Knife in DT because when running it is a hair faster then a standard M9)

    Support: M69 HE Frag (GP)

Backpack A: M69 HE Frag-NL (very VERY useful) [NX] or Default M67 Frag (not as useful)

Backpack B: M67 Frag Pack (GP or NX)

Backpack C: RPG-7 (very handy to use, Pro Choice weapon when used correctly in DT) or Law
*RPG and Law together is overkill. Between the RPG and Law the RPG is generally better all around. The only advantage that the Law has on the RPG is that the Law has a slightly faster Draw speed and a slightly faster Reload speed then the RPG

**I suggest for people using the standard backpack that you either use 2 HE nades or if you can't purchase the NX nade then just use 1 HE and 1 Frag Pack

    Gear:
*The main focus of this set-up is for maximizing your speed. Speed is vital in Desert Thunder. The NX Speed gear gives you the BIGGEST Advantage for Desert Thunder.

Head: Cyclops (NX) or Military Bandanna (GP)

Face: Anti-Flash Goggles (GP or NX) or Patriot Mask (NX) (Patriot mask add's an Extra 10% sprint Stamina which is like acouple extra steps, which helps)

Vest: Light (GP) or Recon Vest (NX)

    Uniform: Any, Doesn't Matter

Backpack: Utility (GP or NX) or Clan backpack (Very Important) [GP Clan item]

*using a standard backpack set-up is definitely possible but is far from as effective as the utility backpack strategy.

Character: Normal Base (Male or Female), Deckland, Mei, Max (since the recent perm GP max merc event alot of people have been running with max which also works well but only difference is her speed).
*Hauser: Now this is a bit of an opinion but Hauser in Desert Thunder isn't really necessary he may be well protected but he is very slow which in Desert Thunder is bad, you need your speed in Desert Thunder

**Specialists: In my opinion on specs is 75% of the time they aren't needed at all, M32 Regular freezes the game often very glitchy, M32 fire isn't necessary but it does do some serious damage with the cost of a few draw backs, Airstrike Regular is horrible in DT I do not recommend using this weapon at all, Airstrike Napalm is fairly effective when placed right in clearing the last part of DT, First Aid kits are pointless, Personal Med Kits are nice when combined with AS Napalm but the problem is you become more of a supporting player, the Mini-gun is a very poor choice for Desert Thunder in my personal opinion simply because it's very inaccurate and the spread is terrible (for desert thunder it's widely accepted that you bring a fairly accurate weapon like an AR or SMG)... Just a touch of info about specs.

VERY IMPORTANT! If you want to play Desert Thunder and Maximize the amount of Exp/Gp you gain I highly suggest that you play in the Black Market Server, it's only $25 to get in and you can even get in if you have spent $25 worth of NX Credit which isn't that hard to do. Kilo is being implemented back into the game tonight and I'm not sure if you can play Fireteam in it but if you can I'd suggest doing so since their will be some sort of boost for it. The better Desert Thunder players can also be found in the Black Market server aswell.

My and my friends played this in Black Market servers.
We got over 150K GP in two days.
    Quick power level.
Eight NX whores will beat them all NPC's.

    You know, snipers are useful.
    Depends which one.
M24 variants are pretty good because of their 100% accuracy.
    Headshot are far away targets.

Yup, maybe but I was watching some pros and if you want to do it faster, there is no time for standing up to use an SR

Just because they have 1000+ clears doesn't mean they're nice.
    They steal my health packs.

    I played with MKD.
    He sucks like shit.

Clears means Experience in Game Play.
Experience is all you need to do the things better...

Not even hacking (aimbot, Chams, No recoil) you can beat Madkillerdog, iNYCpwnage, Greatfullded, BreadnMilk and all those guys with 3,000 clears or more.

This is only half true. If you got Greatfullded to start playing Search and Destroy he'd be having some trouble. Even though he is probably the most seasoned player, he lacks the ability to cope in a different game mode.
This proves that experience IS IN FACT needed.

But then again, if you ask someone to play fireteam with no backpack, you are pretty fucked in the head. Experience DOES make a hell load of difference, but you need a whole lot of other stuff if you want to do well or better at something

^my opinion... i respect your opinion just trying to provide some insight
