Suggestion New rules for SOTW?
ok as most of you know SOTW is more a popularity contest than art , how about these rules?
1)all the entries should be pmed to the competition host .
2)Entries cannot be CnC'd nor showed in any of the forum's sectors.
3)the vote thread should be blind meaning u don't add names for who made this nor the tag include the name of the artist.
4)Voting should be with a poll , and the poll include only the images (dunno if we can do that here).
5)u cant notify which is your signature , and artists included in the competition don't have the right to vote (host will know).
6)DQs should be immediate.

I agree with all of these suggestions. A lot of times what happens is someone is voted for, and then people just follow the trend because they know other people voted for them.
It should be a poll like you said, where you can't see who was voted for until you vote.
This would be much more fair and there would be more competition.

1) I personally don't want to go through tons of PM's. No.
2) This has never really been an issue, not many people change their entries after they post them in showoff.
3) I understand the purpose is to eliminate bias, but there isn't a ton of that.
4) Polls fail. You would think it wouldn't be easy to cheat, but we don't really have anyone who can edit polls who cares enough to keep an eye on it.
5) This kind of ties in with #3, you can't have one without the other. And everyone has the right to vote, unless stated otherwise.

ners thread, nor does anyone want that shit spamming their inbox. That's why we never did it but once.No one edits, and no one would care if they did. This isn't a legitimate GFX site, so it doesn't matter. The majority of the people who post don't take advice regardless.
I don't care what FFX does, that's their system.
No, hosts don't fail, that idea fails because only GM's and higher can edit polls, but no GM or higher gives two shits about this section.
That makes no fucking sense, if I vote for Doc, I'm not voting for myself. I'm voting for Doc. With the rule of the vote team, which preserves legitimacy, the best piece wins 100% of the time.
What's evaded? People that need to be DQ'd? Ya, sure, by not counting their entry. Doesn't really matter if it's taken care of immediately or later as long as it happens.

It should be gfx team members,

Then a replacement panel, or individual members are picked to fill the empty panel spots.
This would be the most effective way to do this.
