Overwriting OS (Chance for you to make a little cash)
Ok guys so my dads company gave him a free PC, its a HP laptop, 1-2 years old and it runs fine. My dad gave it to me because he said its useless without the admin password, so me being me i cracked the admin pw within a matter of 1 hour and now have full access to the PC. I am going to sell it on Ebay but i am first going to wipe the drive and install a new OS + some free cracked software 
now my question is how do i overwrite the current OS on it? Its some kind of windows XP network login(basically a normal school pc/work pc)
I have admin account but i still have never overwrote an OS and i dont want to screw it up because i don't want to lose $200 so yeah. First person to fully explain to me how to install a generic windows XP system WITH automatic updates will get $10-$20 transferred via paypal from the sale of the PC

If the computer itself wont let you do it, you can just take the HDD out, put it into an external case, plug it into another computer, format the HDD, put it back into the computer, put in an OS install disk, and then install the OS on the fresh drive.
You'll need: A Windows CD (XP 7 OR Vista) burned or not, doesn't matter... And a keyboard that works at bootup... and some basic knowledge
First, have the CD of WINXP, or the new OS, 2 restart the computer and press the bootmenu key on the first splash screen, 3rd use the arrow keys and open the CD drive option, 4th let that load and when it say Press any key to contenue, press any key... You should get a Blue screen loading files and then it will say windows is starting up, after that, at the screen, you'll see 3 options, choose the option you want (I think it's delete a partition) and after that you'll get a agreement menu, press F8, and you'll see a screen with all your partitions, select NTFS or C: and press D, after that press enter, now you should have empty partition space, Prss enter on that space, and you'll see the option to install XP on that partition, press the button it says to press and then select Install windows XP (not the fast one) and let it install, there you go, new OS

How would i do this? And yes i have another laptop and yes i can wipe the drive completely but how would i use a flashdrive to install? And i want to use a flashdrive because i only have 1 gig Cds so i couldnt burn a 2.9 gig iso to that small a cd

XP, cracked or not, should only be about 700 MiB.
But you have to format a drive a certain way from CMD, and then extract the ISO to the root of the drive. I have a bootable Windows 7 USB stick through this method, but it's possible for pretty much any OS.
I'm not sure if it only works for Linux, but uNetBootin might work too.

, not really sure what ur talking about ive never done anything like this b4 
if u can provide a detailed tutorial on how to reformat/install a new OS using only the .iso image file i would send money to

Search through torrents for a windows XP SP3 ISO file.
Burn the ISO to a DVD/CD.
Put the CD into your computer.
Turn off the computer.
Turn on your computer.
Spam the F8/F12/Delete button During the boot process.
Then select/ find boot from CD.
Then go through the install process and install over the OLD partition; don't make a new one.
Done.
