Ok, the canvas is transparent, and i inserted an image, and the background color is white (in the image i inserted). How do i make the White color transparent?(in the image)

First off i'd recommend photoshop > fireworks if you have it.

The easiest way is to use the magic wand tool, situated on the toolbar on the left under 'bitmap'. It looks (oddly enough) like a magic wand thing. Click on the white area and it will quickly select it. Be warned though this tool is evil and will curse your transparency with white edges.

If you need the accuracy, read up on the pen tool or using channels to remove a background.

There are a number of ways you can do this. For the best effect I would put that layer on like Darken or multiply over another background. If you just want it cut out, you can use the lasso tool to select places and then delete them. The pen tool (basically do the same thing and then make a selection out of the path). Magnetic lasso tool, magic wand tool, background eraser...so many ways.

Google search how to render and image. However if you just play around with the tools i mentioned you should be able to grasp the idea quite easily.

Yea, i didn't know like what to call it, so goggling it would be hard. its easer to explain... thanks for the help.

also, i only have fireworks right now, i like the text skins and stuff...

i think i have a portable of photoshop...
