256 GB SSD HD

Soh, I got a new 256 GB SATA 3 hd today and am deciding whether to install it right now or wait until I get a new mobo. I am planning on buying a i7 2500k w/ a SATA 3 compatible mobo and using the hd now would require me to have to reformat when I get the new parts.

Wut does MPGH say I do? Only serious answers, or fuck off.

I think you should hold off for now. You're more likely to see the benefits if you hold off until you get the new parts. If you install it now and it gets bottlenecked you'll be somewhat disappointed.

i personally would give it 2-3 months for the new mobo/cpu
by then sandybridge will have reduced in price, u will probably be able to get the model above it for roughly the same price

I read that sandybridge got recalled due to some error with the processor.

Install it for the extra speed, but not really needed... New motherboard on the way indicates that you are wanting something more? Install the Hard Drive... Takes extra work, but worth it.

install it now, install some stuff, then uninstall and install it on your new motherboard
