it didn't work but this is how i did it...for future reference or if any of you get an idea on another way
Open model edit
Grab an LTA of a model that has something with a shit ton of keyframes in 1 of the animations (airstrike anibase works well)
highlight the fire_0 animation, Right click, Tag All, the right click again, Click edit tagged keyframes
add in the dialog box that comes up
from there do the same to Fire_1
duplicate Fire_1 (right click fire_1, click duplicate)
delete the postfire animation
rename fire_1_copy to postfire
highlight the new postfire, select the animation menu, select animation length
set it to 8000
compile this file to ANY ANIBASE that is in any rez except melee (already unlimited ammo on knives) and throwing rez because it just doesn't work (tried it)
hopefully this becomes useful somehow (try making it with the LAW, you might get lucky and not shoot blanks
