Does z8 Bans for using VPN`s ??

I was playing using a VPN coz i lag without using it and it help me to get my ping stable so.. i was playing and it was ON and when i tried to change the channel in game from Uk1 to Bravo it said that you have been blocked from the server for a while.. I mean wdf i didnt used any malicious program or software and still the hell you ban me.. so z8 will ban you if anything running in background while you playing ?? And they banned me only for 3 hrs But WD HELL MY HONOURABLE RIBBON IS GONE!!!!
and for those who dont know what a VPN is.. it is a type of IP HIDER and its more safer than that ...what should i do should i send a support ticket or ruin there game by making hacks and using noobies account to hack all day ??
