Leechers Hurt too
Well if you make hacks I can tell the 1 thing that ruins hacks are leechers though it's easier to blame all of us rather than specific ones.
That being said I am a leecher as I download hacks because I lack the skill required to create them; possibly the most aggravating thing for me is when public hacks are abused (as they are now) mostly because those who put the work into creating these hacks are getting slapped in the face with their own creations all because they gave it to people? Thats fuked up...
I have been in a lot of hack communities now, though never been more than a leecher; I attempted to learn how to create hacks back in maplestory though by then the hacks transitioned to injectors which just made it that much more confusing for me (this isnt an excuse; I really should and want to learn to create hacks and I am aware of the MANY guides out there that teach people the basics though the "basics" are no where near what it takes to make worthy hacks)
Possibly the saddest part of all this is that I am 19 and a freshman majoring in computer science and I dont know any coding languages!!! (touchy on java)

Being in so many hacking communities, I see the patterns and I know what's coming. When people abuse public hacks, the hacks go away, and all leechers suffer. Im not going to argue anyone is wrong for not giving hacks to leechers; I mean it is really generous that people actually do give hacks.

Im not trying to kiss ass so that I can get hacks or anything of that such, but at this point I am stuck...hacks will go away and I will be left out (sounds so selfish ) but I dont want hacks to be abused as they are, its unfair to those who make hacks (anyone know why we have to use injectors instead of cheat engine? yea, hack abuse...plus injectors can do more)

i guess I should put a point to all of this; does anyone know any good guides that teach how to create vindictus hacks and anyone I could ask questions when I get stuck.

Edit:
It seems the point is either missing or insignificant so new point;
How did you (those who make hacks) learn to create hacks?
so are you asking for help ?
are you making new hacks ?
im lost !
but gl

idiots ruin hacks
people who are not smart and post hacks on you tube get them found out and ruined and idiots that show them off to people .. that is who ruins them..

I've sent in my code as ticket to nexon, you mad now?

YUP PRETTY MAD!
It will take many months if not years before you can master the art of programming. I've been programming for 8 and a half years, and gamehacking for almost 4 now, and there are still tons of things I know too little about. That being said it's impossible to know everything there is about programming, since it is constantly expanding.

Your main goal should not be making gamehacks, but rather a career in programming. It will take a lot of time and dedication to get good at it.
C++ is the easiest(in my opinion) to work with when making hacks, because most game SDKs are written in it.

Lol'd hard :P
Also don't worry nexon patching the hacks, I'll update when they do =P

Thanks Hell_Demon! The tools that we have right now are so fun to use! Personally, I use the cheats to practice how to fight bosses. It's very useful because I can just activate the command that gives me hp instead of damages me when monsters hit me and I can spend as much time as I want to fight and observe bosses.

I hope nothing happens to our little fun tools especially this coming Titan update
OOP is not the holy grail. There is a reason why C++ is a multi-paradigm language. The imperative, generic, meta-programming, and functional paradigms are all important tools.

What you should really be learning is assembly of a certain flavor, depending on your target platform. Sure, learning C++ will definitely help you recognize and understand compiler idioms in code, e.g., inlined memcpy routines in the form of rep movsd, or class layout via this pointer, but it is all useless if you do not understand assembly.

No, it isn't. But it is, imo, the hardest to get 'right.' Anyway, this isn't the place for programming religious wars. Suffice that my entire post is pretty much personal opinion :P Though it's impossible to argue against learning to use a flexible and heavily entrenched language regardless of the reasons given
I know that feel.

But some people just use hacks in public hoping they will get fixed, because it's NOT how the game is meant to be played. It's kinda frustrating to see most online games from RagnarokOnline to Starcraft2 have working hacks or bots.

The reason I never report hacks or abuse them in public is because I believe it's not gonna improve anything. Hackshield and gameguard are a big failure of antihack software and all game security developers are less competent than hackers.

QFT. I program for a living (among other things) as well and it isn't something you just 'pick up' and expect to be able to do anything significant in. You can, to some extent, 'pick up' some VB for apps and do fancy things in Excel or learn how to do some command line batch language fanciness. Anything more useful than that (which is, really, everything) requires significant dedication and resilience in the face of brain twisting complication.

Hell_Demon for president!

No, they just have a much bigger scope to deal with and it's pretty much impossible to imagine every possible vector of attack. Anyway, in Vindictus' case the biggest failure is on Nexon's part. The latest Hackshield detects Hell's old console but Vindictus (Nexon's responsibility) doesn't bother to verify what version of the security software it's running. Massive FAIL there. It's like installing a massive deadbolt and a top of the line lock on your front door and then only locking it with a bicycle padlock on the outside.

Are u saying the current "detected" hacks work if you downgrade gameguard?

*Thank you guys for the advice; though I was curious, you said hacking/programming isnt something you just pick up, that leads me to wonder, how did you get into hacking? True you had years of experience in coding programs but is hacking really as easy as you say it is asuming you can program.

BTW thank Hell_Demon, though how many years can a programmer be spoon-fed ey? More of a disappointment in myself really.

Possibly the hardest thing for me is that I don't know any coding languages and just "picking up" C++ would most likely drive me insane (should start with C at most, then build from there).

Yes. There are a number of threads relating to this, you should be able to find a copy of the old Hackshield somewhere on here.

Start with at least C++. You want to use an OO language from the start imo. That way you'll learn an object based way of thinking about things which can save you countless headaches later. You could also start with Java, which is even more objectified and probably better from a best practices perspective (don't misconstrue that statement, it's easy to learn horrible horrible bad practices in any language). There's a knock on benefit that many languages borrow syntax from C/++ and/or Java, making them easier to learn later. I'm also something of a fan of Lisp, PHP, and Perl.

Really, once you adapt a mental paradigm for programming as a discipline the languages become mostly syntactics. You want to be sure your paradigm isn't going to bring you problems later (which is what structured learning is for), but for the most part learning a language becomes a matter of internalizing the syntax and familiarity with the available libraries. There are very few modern languages that will require you to think significantly differently from the usual OO paradigm (I count Lisp among these).

Oh and as for me, I don't code game hacks. Not my expertise; I haven't put any effort into learning the secondary skills for it. I'll leave that in the talented hands of Hell_Demon.
