DLC help?

Can someome explain how I use dlc with a modded profile? I have modded profiles, but the dlc isn't with them and it says to do that 2 controller thing but it doesn't work. I figure it's supposed to let me dl it from xbox live and I can't put it on my flash drive because it's my bb and it doesn't have that much space.
