Respect Lists?

I see them a lot, is it necessary ? , You can easily PM him/her on the forums and say " I Respect you" . Do you have to leave it out in the open ?

What's the difference between sending a PM to that individual ?

If you just send a PM,
then you only say it once and it really means nothing.
But if you put it in your sig then it shows to all the other members,
that you respect those people.
So really...
Its more respectful to put it in your sig than send by PM.

I'm sure all of you respect your family , how come they not in your sig?

Respect lists show who you respect on this forum.

I don't think anyone should.
I just put my respect list to show who I have the most respect for on this forum.

My question is, is it necessary for the whole forum to do it.

The whole forums doesn't do it. You're complaining about something that doesn't matter, and if it really bothered you that much just to PM asking why they have a respect list instead of taking up people time on the mindless thread? So, far in my MPGH life time, this thread has taking up more of my time then any respect list on this forum.
