Modding Vindictus?
Modding Vindictus?
Since Vindictus runs on valve's source engine, I was wondering if we can mod it? Like giving staff Evie a mana cannon or something with animations, or anything else for that matter.
I wouldn't see why not. There are even left over weapon/tanks from CS in there that can be applied, you just need to find the appropriate vmt and related files and replace them.
well yes and no, the problem with this is that we are not the server, unlike other source games like garry's mod or CS, it will not have people load your files into there cache, so instead of them seeing a cannon or something it would run normally to them, its much like the nude mod, you apply it and you can see other chars naked and yourself but to them you are in your underwear.
as for their being left over cannon's and such, no there are scripts that look like it, i was once looking through the HFS files and found a working ballista with damage rate and speed, as for having it spawn in game, is another story it would require a DEV console.

You dont have the source code, so you cant mod it. All you can do is writing DLLs based on the SE2006 code and hope that the offsets didnt change.

You might want to ask this guy about his work. And yes the first one is a mod he just made it look offical

There already is a succubus transformation, posted on a mod site a few months ago.

Besides, the TF2 heavy and the wings one are all mods. So it is infact, very possible. Lol, still can't stop laughing.
Lol I really liked the evie "meteor rain" one. I just saw the polar bear mod just now xD
