I've got to write a formal letter tomorrow, but seeing I never write letters, I have to ask if this is right?

First paragraph, tells why you’re writing.

Second paragraph, goes into further detail.

Final paragraph,  polite ending

(Enclosior, if there are any)

So is this the right like format?
