Java

Is it worth learning? I feel like nothing good will come of it.... Also i H8 Eclipse, any other IDE's for Java that are good?

In my opinion Java is a good and functional coding system but it is slow and resource hogging. From my knowledge it's a bit like C# style with a few different things. My friend is a Java coder and he constantly tells me that he wished he learned a different language.
