[1.5_01]Optimine [FPS Boost]

This mod improves FPS, especially for slower computers. Gains of 20FPS and more are common. For people with slow computers, or lack a bit in specs and tend to lag a lot (or even a little) then those people should consider getting this.

What this is is the unofficial update of the Optimine mod originally made by Scaevolus. Scaevolus didnt update the mod after v1.3, so the community has taken it upon themselves to update it to work with the latest version of minecraft (Which is currently 1.5).

Features:
FastRender: more efficient chunk queue processing.
UniText: a completely rewritten text renderer. It's faster and supports Unicode, although the Unicode font files are not included with this release.
Fewer glClears: erasing the entire screen is expensive. This mod avoids it when possible.
Better chunk drawing code: Removing a few useless transforms from the chunk rendering code lets all visible chunks be drawn in a straightforward manner.
Better Tesselation: Modified for speed. TNT explosions no longer cause clients to have horrible lag, and everything in general should feel faster.
Error handling: Don't go to a black screen when there's an OpenGL error. Print a decent error message to the command line instead.


Installation:
Navigate to your .minecraft folder (Instructions for that)
In .minecraft/bin Right click your minecraft.jar and open it with an archiver such as 7zip/Winrar
Drag all .class files from the file you downloaded in.
DELETE THE META-INF FOLDER
Close, and test.

Yes but a new computer will benefit for many things, but your point is correct, if they are focusing on minecraft they should give this a go.

I have been looking for FPS boosting stuff and no success, but this mod, s giving me 100+FPS at 1600x900 with
fancy graphics.
