3M in 56 hours isn't that much of a profit, but in fact it doesn't cost you time, so yes

If you really need Crafting EXP and want a very small profit, go ahead.

well i'm doing that on an alt account and then getting fletching to 70 and my main account to do yew longs at 70

Maple logs (as of now) are 52 GP and can fletched into unstring maple long sold for 94 GP. However, that's the just recommended price. From level 55 - 99, you'll need 13,034,431 EXP. That's translates into 223,768 unstrung maple long-bows. Now multiply that by 52 GP and you get 11,635,936 GP as the total cost for all the logs. However, if you multiply 223,768 by 94 GP, you get 20,810,424 GP. That's a 9,174,488 GP PROFIT. This isn't taking into account the fact that some people offer to buy for higher just to get the bows faster. So, roughly, you'll get a 10,000,000 GP profit from unstrung maple long-bows.

Now, if you do unstrung maple long bows from 55 - 70, you'll need 12,664 logs for fletching. That's 506,560 GP profit from level 55 - 70. From 70 - 99, you'll need 173,793 yew logs. Multiply 173,793 by 381 GP (GE price as of now), you get 66,215,133 GP. 66 million alone to buy the logs. If you multiply 173,793 by 396 GP (current GE price for unstrung yew long-bows), you get 68,822,028 GP. You end up losing 2,606,895 GP by going from 70 - 99 with yew long-bows. Add 506,560 (profit from maple long-bows) and you end up still losing 2,100,335 GP.

Moral of the story (also known as tl;dr)? Fletch unstrung maple long-bows from 55 - 99. It may take longer, but, you make WAY more money out of it.

It's actually worse than stringing. Stringing takes less time, and a bowstring is 168 coins + the 94 for the unfinished longbow, the final product is 307 coins yielding a ~50 coin profit per bow. This is better because you make profit much more quicker.
