Text help
I fail at text, is there any detailed tuts on text that you guys have?

will +rep.
I don't think there are any tutorials just based on text besides explaining what to keep in mind while adding text
Unless you're talking about tutorials about making text only things which I doubt
5 tips:

-Put text to where it looks good, not in corner (unless it looks good in corner)
-Make text readable
-Don't make text look dull, make text look good
-Make text have appropriate font
-Add cool stuff on text to make it look cooler
Try searching DeviantART, I saw a tutorial once, but can't seem to find it now...
Make sure the font fits the signature
Make sure the text color is taken from the render/background
I personally prefer putting the text into Color Dodge
Make sure the text is close to the focal point (render)
Make sure the text isn't too plain, add some effects on it
Make sure the text isn't too big, it shouldn't draw attention away from the focal point
chuck. your signature tells us what not to do perfectly.
text should not be the same color as the BG, it should bea nice contrasting color that will look good when you use custom effects. Text should be organized(check out a lot of shayne's tags) to the point of not protruding everywhere. Text should also follow the rule of thirds. << most quintessential part of tag-making.

I was neither giving my signature as an example neither did I say it was good. Please, leave me out of this.

But he chose to begin to use your signature as an example as it is a perfect fit.
You mean typography? Just check the tutorials section, and check out my thread. One of the tutorials i have posted there is on typography.
Rule of Thirds

Text should be the second thing you see. Should fall in a point of interest that doesn't steal the users initial interest.

shut the hell up dumbass

all i can say is use good fonts, not fancy fonts, good font
use game logos
place it near the focal and u the rule of thirds
yeah pay attention to font used, that might take a while to see what fits better in the sig.
Retro sig = Retro Font
Get visitor tt1 brk font, in my experience you can make it fit almost anything.
Personally I like making flashy, bold text that's really one of the main focal points, or right next to one. Like scr said, go with rule of thirds, but do one of two things.

A: Put the text right at/near the main focal point where everything's going on
B: Put the text in a rule of thirds focal point with not much/nothing going on at all (make it a main focal point)

Don't go halfway.
Whats good for a assasin's creed sig?
