need help with login thing
ok im trying to make a login form with a create button when u type the username and the password and then click create i want it where the create button will never appear again on there computer they would have to just use the username and the password they made to login
can some one help me thanks
Picture:

make it to application settings. add one setting value named "setCreate" and make it Boolean.
Code:
Private Sub btnCreate_Click(sender,args)
  'if user clicked on create button, that means he created account so we will tell application that account is created and write that info to my.settings
  my.settings.setCreate = True
  my.settings.Save
  btnCreate.Visible = false
End Sub
Private Sub Form_Load(sender,args)
'if account is created, Create button will be invisible
  if my.settings.setCreate = true then
    btnCreate.visible = false
  else
'else it will be visible
    btnCreate.visible = true
  end if
End sub

btncreate.enabled = false
that is kinda better i think
button will still APPEAR (he said "never appear again") even if it's enabled or disabled
Why use a nooby "login" system like that? its just a multitool.... the fake login isnt at all neccessary. Blendsofts method will work, still it boggles my mind as to why your using a fake login system

It can be real login. I hope he already has account creation code but i will post one of my methods here:

Lets say that u have 2 settings named MyUser and MyPass.

Code:
Private Sub Form_Load(sender, args)
if My.Settings.MyUser <> "" then
  btnCreate.Visible = False
else
  MsgBox("You have to create new account in order to use this application")
  btnCreate.Visible = True
End If
End Sub

Private Sub btnCreate_Click(sender,args)
If Textbox1.Text <> "" Then
  If textbox2.text <> "" then
  my.settings.MyUser = textbox1.text
  my.settings.MyPass = textbox2.text
  my.settings.Save()
  Else
  msgbox("Password field is empty.",Critical,"Error")
  End If
Else
msgbox("Username field is empty.",Critical,"Error")
End If
End Sub

Private Sub btnLogin_Click(sender,args)
if textbox1.text = my.settings.MyUser then
  if textbox2.text = my.settings.MyPass then
  msgbox("Login successful",Info,"Success")
  'do events
  else
  msgbox("Password is incorrect.",Critical,"Error")
  End If
Else
msgbox("Username is incorrect.",Critical,"Error")
End If
End Sub

Dude the visual basics project file screenshot shows the name "MultiTool"
therefore that is how i got the multi tool assumption. Hmm, and why would a "pro" of your stature need help making the simplest of logins?
the projects name been multi tool seens like dec of 10 i just delete the old things i have made and then make new things instead of making new names .and pro where did u get that im a pro at VB ? no pro here dude

Well from your posts on my threads flaming it looks to me like your trying to show your better than me and everyone else. Like your trying to say your pro and everyones not.... learn to interpret sarcasm :/ Also stop making duplicate threads of this same question. Blend soft has answered your question and so has other people numerous times.
